Those who plan to do some major outdoor overhauls this year have probably (hopefully!) already contacted some landscapers to begin design work. Those who are looking to add just a little something to their outdoor spaces may be researching what they want to grow. If you’re getting antsy for outdoor gardening, this is a perfect time consider planting seeds indoors, assuming you have decent light inside your home or are willing to set up a grow light configuration somewhere.
But first…! It’s important to figure out when to seed based on when you can safely transplant outdoors.
When you think about it, any time you take on a landscaping upgrade, it isn’t all that different from taking on an indoor remodeling job. You always want to think out your designs beforehand and price them out before you begin the process of tearing out what is already there and then starting the installation process.
HOWEVER…
There are some upgrades you can make fairly quickly to spruce up your property. These kinds of minor fixes can make a huge difference, too.
One of the interesting parts about urban-area gardening is that the outdoor spaces vary more than you see in strictly suburban areas. There are also far fewer large expanses of yard in urban areas, and the up side of having less space to landscape is that you can spend less to create a sanctuary.
But there are challenges, too, and these challenges are also what make Chicago landscaping projects a lot of fun.
